Outstanding Performance Awards

CIRES' Outstanding Performance Awards program was established to recognize exceptional contributions by its members. The CIRES Members' Council evaluates the nominations to select candidates who:

  • Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and/or creativity
  • Have a substantial impact both within and external to the nominee's workplace
  • Are extraordinary relative to the nominee's regular responsibilities
  • Reflect a willingness to seek out challenges

As of 2006, separate Science and Engineering Awards recognized CIRES members for outstanding contributions to scientific research or engineering work, and Service Awards recognize CIRES members for outstanding service in administration, information technology, project management, outreach, or other work not directly related to scientific research or engineering.
