1993-2002. Focusing Our Unique Capabilities
The Future
The year 2002 found CIRES to be a strong and productive site for creative activities. Although CIRES as it existed in that year differed in many particulars from the institute of 1967, it remained essentially the same, dedicated to excellence in research and education in a broad spectrum of the environmental sciences. The director's view of the foreseeable future is given in the epilogue to this history.
