Professor, Applied Mathematics

Research interests: Dynamical systems; Hamiltonian mechanics; Celestial mechanics.

Current Research Projects: Analysis of the motion of a toy called the levitron, which consists of a magnetic top that spins in the dipole field of a ceramic magnetic base; the translational and rotational degrees of freedom produce a twelve dimensional dynamic.
