TITLE: Monitoring and Management of Soil Degradation Problems Derived from Soil Structural Crust Processes

VISITING FELLOWSHIP REPORT

It was a big pleasure and honor for me to be a CIRES fellow during the past seven months while I conducted a sabbatical at CSES.

The stimulating environment of the center in general and of CSES in particular in both scientifically and socially ways, enabled me to gain a scientific progress in fields related to the remote sensing of the environment using hyper spectral technology and reflectance information.

Six papers were written and submitted to conference proceedings (2) and referee journals (4, where 1 was already accepted and three are under review process). Also based on my progress at CSES, one proposal will be submitted on December 2002 to the Israel US binominal foundation to continue the scientific activity between CIRS/CSES and Tel-Aviv University in issues just initiated.

To sum my progress in CSES/CJRES enclosed herewith the relevant paper list:

Ben-Dor E., N. Levin A. Singer, A. Karnieli and 0. Braun 2002, Quantitative Mapping of the Soil Rubification Process on Sand Dunes, Using Field and Airborne sensors AVJRIS Workshop Pasadena CA April 2002

I would like to take this opportunity and thank CIRES headquarter for giving me the chance to work in the world wide leading center for studding of the Earth form space of CSES, to CSES head Prof Goetz and to all of the CSES and CIRES staff that helped me to make this wonderful period so productive.
