CIRES Graduate Student Association (CGSA)

The CGSA (CIRES Graduate Student Association) was implemented in the fall of 2008.
Members of the CGSA are the graduate students who are advised by the Council of Fellows, or who do research for one of the CIRES units as a Research Assistant.

The purpose of the CGSA is to provide a connection to the graduate students who come from the various academic units to do research in CIRES, in a supportive, unified environment.

Sierra Magazine Top SchoolsThe CGSA sponsors a range of activities from academic to social, the showcase of which is the Student Seminar Series (SSS).  The SSS provides a platform from which advanced students can gain practical experience in speaking to an audience about their research topics in an informal environment among peers, with the expertise of an evalutor from the Graduate Teacher Program (GTP) to provide constructive criticism. Adding to the list of events, will be the joint Career Workshops offered with ATOC and Career Services to help students with accomplishing career goals after graduation with panel experts from academia, research, government and non-profit agencies.
