11:30 am - 12:30 pm - Newcomers Lunch - Buffet in UMC 235 - Seating in UMC 285-287 New to DLESE or to a DLESE annual meeting? Grab your lunch from UMC room 235 and join us in the Aspen rooms (UMC 285-287) for an opportunity to get acquainted with other attendees, hear about plans for the library's development and learn how to make the most of the annual meeting.

These sessions are intended to provide broad, general overview information on the goals of the strands. Meeting participants have been assigned to strands based on the preferences expressed in the Call for Interest and registration process (see the Strand overview on page 28 and the Strand Assignments on page 33 of this notebook). Participants should attend the Concurrent Session that addresses the broad goal of their strand (User Base, Data, Collections, Education/Evaluation).

The strand format provides an opportunity for community members to directly contribute to critical issues of library development. In the past, strand activities have launched significant new DLESE-related projects, provided a focus for community activism, and helped prioritize library development. Goals for this first strand session are: to get acquainted with fellow strand members and their priorities and interests; identify an online report-out form (Swiki) editor for the group; begin to articulate issues specifically related to your strand topic. Please record these issues in the online report out form.

8:40 am - 9:50 am - DLESE Core Services: What Will They Bring To DLESE? - Ed Geary, Colorado State University (Glenn Miller Ballroom-UMC 210). The new core services will be described in the context of the history and planned evolution of DLESE. The goals of each service will be described as will the opportunities for the DLESE community to participate in and take advantage of the core service activities. The presentation will be followed by an extended question and answer period.

3:30 pm - 5:00 pm - 5th Strand Working Session
Strands will finalize strategies and actions. Each group should also include any opportunities for collaboration or strategic partnerships; identify opportunities and articulate key needs; develop post-meeting plans to continue strand topic development (post-meeting goals and plans/milestones). Prepare for strand report-out session. Please record ideas and resources identified, and plans for after the meeting into online report out form.
