two women with scientific instruments
Female Forces!
Janet and Sara in the Lidar trailer. They hold degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering. They finished taking the last set of data for the experiment just moments before this photo was taken. Sara's interest in Optics began with a project she did in sixth grade.

scientific instruments: barometer, compass, sling psychrometer, cloud chart, field book
Judy's Instruments
These are instruments I brought aboard the Seward Johnson. From left to right: Barometer, Compass, Sling Psychrometer. Also shown are a cloud chart and field book. Early on I realized the flow of data is constant! Sophisticated measuring devices are found on land, on the aircraft, and on the ship. Scientists have been collecting information about air pressure, wind speed, wind direction, ultraviolet radiation, aerosols, atmosphere and water surface temperatures, and more! - Judy
