Survey of Mathematics

This standards-based course will focus on the identification and analysis of mathematical patterns embedded in non-European cultures. In particular, we'll look at pattens in logic, shape, and number systems in various cultures, such as the quipu record-keeping system of the Incas, Native American strip patterns, and others. Throughout this course will be highlighted the ideas of number and operation, geometry, data analysis, and algebra. Participants will participate in a lesson study.
