Northeast Front Range Math/Science Partnership
Application Information
Eligibility
Teachers in the partner districts -- Adams 12, Ft. Lupton, Jeffco, Platte Canyon, and St. Vrain Valley -- are eligible for all 2005 institutes. Some institutes are offered through a collaboration with the NSF-funded Rocky Mountain Middle School Math & Science Partnership (RMMSP). Because not all districts are partners in both groups, details of participation may differ among districts. Please contact your district science or math coordinator for details.
A limited number of spaces may be available for teachers from outside the partner districts, although a stipend may not be available. Priority will be given to middle school science and math teachers seeking "highly qualified" status. To inquire about eligibility, contact the individual listed under the institute of interest to you.
Requirements
Applicants must agree to:
- Attend all 10 days of the summer institute (~80 hours)
- Participate in a lesson study project (~12 hours)
- Attend 4 follow-up sessions during fall 2006 (~28 hours)
Stipend
Teachers will receive a stipend of $1600 for completing the entire institute, summer and fall sessions, payable in January 2007 (pending budget approval from CDE).
Credit
Graduate credit will be available through the partner universities and may be purchased the first week of the summer institutes.
Applications are due to your district science or math coordinator on April 3, 2006.
