Carol Schott

Carol Schott has a Master's Degree in Science Education, Curriculum and Instruction. She has been a teacher at the middle school and high school levels. Carol is the founding Director of Science Discovery. Science Discovery (SD) was established in 1983 as an experience-based, educational outreach program of the University of Colorado at Boulder. Science Discovery's mission is to stimulate scientific interest, understanding and literacy among Colorado's youth, teachers and families by bringing University resources and academic expertise to the community. Carol served as the Principal Investigator for a teacher enhancement project at the National Center for Atmospheric Research and the University of Colorado facilitator for the Statewide Systemic Initiative. She has conducted numerous professional development workshops for teachers, often pairing her expertise in experiential learning with the scientific content knowledge of a faculty member. Carol is a co-author on the Physics for Fun curriculum modules.

In 2006 Carol was named a Boulder County Pacesetter for her work in science education.
