Learning Objectives: Students will be able to use field equipment to test soils.

Where: Holloway Middle School

Who: 150 6th graders

What:

  1. Observe the scholl grounds
  2. Formulate a question over soils.
  3. Go outside and collect soil samples

  5. Analyze data and formulate conclusions.

When: Spring 2003

Potential Barriers: Weather, equipment and time.

Possible Strategies:

  1. Write a grant.
  2. Be flexible on what day we will take samples.
  3. Good planning.

Earth System connection:

  2. Atmosphere
  3. Lithosphere
