Boulder is a community of about 100,000 people, including CU's student population of 25,000. Nestled in a valley at the foot of the Rocky Mountains 25 miles northwest of Denver, Boulder is famous for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreation.

With its dry and mild climate, the city enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine annually. Boulder also offers a variety of cultural events, including the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, and the Colorado Museum Festival.
