Students conduct interdisciplinary research with mentors in a wide variety of subjects.

The environmental program takes a cross-disciplinary approach by encompassing several departments, programs, centers, and institutes. Degree programs are offered by the Environmental Studies Program, Environmental Engineering Program, ATOC, and the academic departments.

The environmental program also has affiliates in the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory in Boulder. The ESRL quarterly newsletter provides highlights of ESRL's diverse research programs.
