The oxidation of organic functional groups such as alcohol, alkene and allyl and benzyl hydrogens was investigated using readily available and inexpensive sodium percarbonate and perborate in hydrated organic solvents over reusable alumina-adsorbed transition metal catalysts. The results to date will be reported. Support by UT-K's NSF RSEC Fellowship.
