MISR True Color Images

MISR nadir image
MISR image from the nadir camera of Steamboat Springs, Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. This image was acquired on 1 June 2000. North is to the left of the image.

MISR true color image
MISR true color image, from the nadir camera, of the Pine Island Glacier acquired on 12 December 2000.

MISR False Color Images

MISR false color image
MISR false color composite image of the Pine Island Glacier acquired on 12 December 2000. This image combines data from the forward 60-degree, nadir, and aftward 60-degree cameras (displayed in red, green, and blue, respectively). In this composite, many features are more readily discerned than in the true color image. Crevasses on the glacier's tongue appear as bright orange. Smoother blue ice appears dark purple instead of orange. Clouds appear as light purple. Three-dimensional anaglyphs of these images are also available in the MISR 3-D section.

MISR images
MISR images of tropical northern Australia acquired on 1 June 2000. On the left is a color composite from the nadir camera's blue, green, and red band data. On the right is a multi-angle composite of red band data only from the forward 60-degree, nadir, and aftward 60-degree cameras. Click here for more information.

MISR images
MISR images of fires in southern Africa acquired during the SAFARI 2000 Dry Season Campaign.

MISR images
MISR images northern Arizona, USA and the Grand Canyon acquired on 31 December 2000. On the left is a true color image from the nadir camera. On the right is a stereo composite using data from the vertical and forward 46-degree cameras (best viewed with 3-D glasses). Click here for more information.

MISR 3-D Images

Images are best viewed with 3-D glasses with the red lens over the left eye.

MISR anaglyph
MISR anaglyph of Steamboat Springs, Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. This image was acquired on 1 June 2000. North is to the left of the image.

MISR anaglyph
Anaglyph of the Pine Island Glacier acquired on 12 December 2000 using the nadir and 70-degree aftward cameras.

MISR anaglyph

MODIS Images

MODIS nadir BRDF-adjusted reflectance image
Nadir BRDF-Adjusted Reflectances (NBAR) from MODIS. These reprocessed false color composites represent three 16 day periods beginning on 6 March 2001 (Julian Day 065), 7 April 2001 (Day 097) and 9 May 2001 (Day 129). The three images capture the progressive green-up of spring vegetation (the red colors) in North America. (Red=NIRBand2(0.10-0.40), Green=RedBand1(0.00-0.16), Blue=GreenBand4(0.00-0.18), Black=NoData).
