Antarctica—Passion and Obsession November 1, 2007 - December 31, 2007
It appears that fate steered Canadians Rosemarie and Pat Keough to the same South Nahanni River canoeing trip some twenty years ago. Having forged a bond during the adventure they decided to forego careers in the corporate world to pursue the dream of publishing private-press artists books. In 2002 the Keoughs published an epic work of imagery born out of two austral summers in the Antarctic. Photographing the topography, weather, fauna, and flora, the Keoughs produced a magnificent tome entitled Antarctica making this remote region available to a worldwide audience. Proceeds of this work go to international albatross conservation programs. The traveling exhibit contains 70 images of their work and will be on display in the University of Colorado at Boulder's HotSpot Gallery, located on the first floor of Norlin Library (campus map). The exhibit is free and open to the public during the library's regular hours. Call 303-492-6144 for further information. |
