Rendezvous 2013 -- Thursday, May 2nd
I am pleased to announce that CIRES will present Rendezvous, our eighth institute-wide symposium on Thursday, May 2, 2013. The CIRES Members' Council is planning this half-day of posters and presentations to familiarize you with the depth, breadth, and quality of the pacesetting science being done at CIRES. We hope to encourage collaborations that might result in new interdisciplinary research, and to facilitate connections among our many innovative scientists, science support staff, and administrative staff.
This year the entire afternoon is devoted to posters, which is the most interesting and interactive way to present the variety of research at the institute. We are happy for you to present posters that may have been presented previously at AMS, AGU, ACS, or other meetings. Of course, you are free to develop a new poster or present new work.
Poster submissions will be made directly online by members. After the submission deadline, the Rendezvous Committee will survey the number of submitted abstracts from each division and report a final number to the Division Directors who will build an acceptance list. The Rendezvous Committee will strive to accommodate all submissions. We hope to include more than 100 posters. Reminder: Maximum poster width is 4 feet

All others please allow some time to check-in before lunch begins
11:30 – 1:30 Luncheon (continued during State of the Institute address)
We are fortunate to find ample space for this event at the UMC. Poster presenters will be at their posters for the poster session after lunch. Catered lunch will include a brief "State of the Institute" address and our annual CIRES awards ceremony, featuring presentation of the Outstanding Performance Awards, the annual program administered by your CIRES Members' Council.
Rendezvous is the highlight of annual events for CIRES in that it allows all of us to be together and to enjoy our collective and individual achievements. I am hoping that you will find time to prepare a poster for the presentation at the Rendezvous. I look forward to seeing you there.William M. Lewis, Jr.
