NOAA and CIRES
As a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Cooperative Institute, CIRES operates via a partnership between the university and NOAA's Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research. The partnership provides CIRES scientists with many unique opportunities for collaborative investigations with NOAA scientists in atmospheric research, applied meteorological research, air quality and climate research, climate monitoring and diagnostics, and environmental technology research.
