Meg Littrell
Educational Researcher, Program Evaluator
Research Interests
Meg is a Senior Associate Scientist, specializing in Educational Research and Evaluation, at the CIRES Center for Education, Engagement and Evaluation (CEEE). She earned a doctorate in Cognitive Psychology from Colorado State University, with a focus on applications of cognitive theory in education. Meg aims to use culturally responsive methods in both her educational research and evaluation work, engaging in collaborative approaches with project teams and community members.
Current Research
Meg’s educational research focuses on place-based environmental education, informal and formal science learning, and understanding experiences that are transformative and empowering toward environmental action and community engagement. Meg has conducted quantitative and qualitative studies to measure educational outcomes for formal and informal science learning programs including the We are Water traveling library exhibition (co-PI & Educational Researcher); HEART Force natural hazards and community resilience program, and the Lens on Climate Change youth film-making program. Meg also serves as an evaluator for a variety of programs including the Environmental Data Science Innovation & Inclusion Lab (ESIIL, Evaluator), UTMOST (Co-PI & Evaluator), and HEART Force.
