Current Research

My research investigates the chemistry of secondary organic aerosols (SOA). These aerosols impact air quality and global climate. Highly oxidized multifunctional peroxides contribute significantly to SOA growth in pristine environments, but their chemistry is not known. By synthesizing multifunctional hydroperoxides in our lab and applying a host of analytical techniques we are able to determine reaction pathways, kinetics and equilibria for hydroperoxides in SOA.
