Calibration   Radiation    Profile-Tower     Ground-Flux


Objectives
· Calibration of temperature, humidity and wind sensors
· Profile measurements of wind speed, temperature, and humidity 
· Radiation balance measurements 
· Eddy correlation measurements with sonic 3-D and Lyma-alpha hygrometer
· Comparison of eddy correlation and bulk aerodynamic method

Friday
Relative calibration of temperature, humidity and wind instruments.
Installation of radiation sensor.

Saturday & Sunday
Installation of profile tower (temperature, humidity, wind speed).
Installation of ground heat flux equipment.
Installation of eddy correlation instruments.
Profile measurements of albedo across valley floor.
 
 

Personal equipment
Food and drinks (not too much alcohol!) for 3 days
Warm clothing for outside work at 3000 m altitude (it could be sub-freezing)
Waterproof boots for hike to tundra lab through snow, gloves, hat
Sunscreen, sunglasses, waterproof  wind jacket and backpack
Tent, sleeping bag and mattress for camping at 3000 m altitude
Waterproof field book, flashlight, your personal first aid kid 

Departure: Friday at 13:00 from CU
Return: Sunday before 18:00 at CU
