A creepmeter was installed in 1996 near the north entrance of Oakland Zoo. The creepmeter is 30 m long and crosses the fault obliquely at 30 degrees at a depth of 1.5 m. The creep rate observed 1996-1998 is negligible suggesting that the creepmeter may not span the fault precisely. However, several pipe breaks ave occurred near the center of the creepmeter historically and it is possible that the low creep rate is transient.

The 2 mm amplitude sinusoidal signal evident in the data is caused by thermal expansion of the rigid glass fiber rod relatively to the ground. No significant creep is evident Oct 1996 to Oct 1998.
