The figure illustrates the complexity of the fault zone at Fremont inferred from a borehole monument that penetrates the fault at 21.5 m depth. Measurements of offsets of the borehole as a function of time indicate the offset rate of the borehole at 21.5 m depth is identical to the creep rate measured by the surface creepmeter. Measurements along and across the fault are shown below.
