Syllabus for GEOL1010 Fall 2009- First Half course outline by date (The second half of the course starting 19 October will be given by Professor Anne Sheehan)

The chapters in your book discussed in each class are obvious from the title and content of the lectures but are listed below for reference purposes. You may wish to read the chapter before class, and review some of the pictures and their significance.

In the first half there will be two quizzes and a mid-term final. The first Quiz will be on plate tectonic processes, and the second will include questions on global tectonics and volcanic processes The mid-term final is on everything we covered in class up to 16 October. On 19 October Professor Sheehan will take over. Her final may include some of the materials we have covered in the first half of the class but will be mostly on those materials she discusses on her half of the class. Note her Final exam will be on 11 Dec. - not on the University advertized date.
