Leslie M. Hartten

CIRES Research Scientist II
at the
NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory

I'm a research meteorologist with CIRES, working at NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL, pronounced "EZ-rel"). I am in the Boundary Layer Processes and Applications Twig of the Weather and Climate Physics Branch of the Physical Sciences Division.

Since I arrived in Boulder in 1993, much of my research has focussed on the weather over the tropical Pacific and its interactions with the underlying ocean and with global climate. I've also become involved in various investigations into the uses and abuses of data collected by wind profiling radars. Most of my work at CIRES has involved data collected by tropical wind profilers.
