Current Research

My research focuses on planetary boundary layer processes, with an emphasis on stable boundary layers and the morning transition period.

Current projects:

  • Examination of land-atmosphere interactions and boundary layer processes during the morning transition using observations from the DOE’s Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Southern Great Plains site and simulations of the Common Community Physics Package Single Column Model (CCPP-SCM).
  • Assessment of the stratocumulus to cumulus cloud regime transition in the eastern Pacific Ocean as represented in simulations of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. Simulations are evaluated with observations from the Marine ARM GPCI Investigation of Clouds (MAGIC) campaign.

About CECA

CECA connects and creates a supportive environment for graduate students and postdocs who come from various academic units to do research in CIRES.
