Trout Bowl Volunteer Training

Trout Bowl Volunteer Training

CIRES Education & Outreach is looking for volunteers for the 21st annual Trout Bowl competition on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the CU Boulder University Memorial Center.

The Trout Bowl is the Rocky Mountain Regional of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl, an academic competition for high school students. We will need volunteers for morning, afternoon and all-day shifts. We need more volunteers in the morning round robins (8:00am – 1:00pm) than in the afternoon double eliminations (1:00pm – 6:00pm). Lunch is provided for volunteers and we also train all of our volunteers.

If you would like to volunteer, we request that you attend ONE training session. Trainings typically last 1-1.5 hours

Many volunteer roles don’t require a science background, so you can volunteer with your friends/family/co-workers. If you want to learn more about available volunteer roles, you can find descriptions here: http://nosb.org/community/volunteers/competition-officials/

If you cannot attend one of these sessions but would still like to volunteer, please email me and we can make alternate arrangements. You can also use the RSVP link (above) to let me know you’re not going to volunteer this year but would like to be on my email list for the future.
