Annamarie is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the We Are Water project. A native of the Chicago area, she has engaged most recently with the Tucson community in several conservation-based efforts. Annamarie combined her interests in education and the environment into a master’s thesis from the University of Arizona about place-based education for Mexican American students. After teaching humanities in a Tucson middle school for several years, she returned to museum education and later provided educational outreach for the Cienega Watershed Partnership. Annamarie also became a passionate advocate for the nighttime environment in her role as a development associate with the International Dark-Sky Association. She looks forward to exploring Boulder’s hiking trails with her dog Rufus.
