Gaelle Hervieux

I am an Earth system data scientist specializing in natural variability, extreme weather events, and their drivers. My work leverages large observational, reanalysis, and Earth system model datasets, including oceanographic, meteorological, and satellite observations, to quantify and characterize environmental variability and climate extremes. As part of my current research, I develop nonstationary extreme value models to assess temperature-related risks to infrastructure and public health. Proficient in Python, R, MATLAB, and Fortran, I strive to translate complex datasets into scalable workflows, robust diagnostics, and publication-ready visualizations and web-based products that support actionable scientific insights.
