HEARTforce teacher workshop in Durango

CIRES Education and Outreach is partnering with the Mountain Studies Institute for a one-day teacher professional development workshop for secondary science teachers to learn about hazards affecting Coloradoans; floods, wildfires, extreme heat and drought. Teachers will learn about the latest science and how to implement place-based curriculum to teach in their classroom, including a scenario based role play game for the classroom. LOCC in Puerto Rico

Middle and High school students learn about climate effects on their communities in Puerto Rico through filmmaking. Student interview scientists, business owners and other community members to explore the intersection of climate and community.

Earth Educators Rendezvous

Katie Boyd from CLEAN will attend this conference and present about CLEAN. She will have a poster presentation as well as a spot in a share-a-thon to help spread the word about using CLEAN to teach about climate and energy topics.

LOCC with Math Science Upward Bound program in Boulder

High school students in the Upward Bound Math Science program at Trinidad State Junior College from southern Colorado and New Mexico will visit CU to learn about climate change effects through creating their own films.
