Polar Expeditions: From Past to Present

Join CIRES and Reach the World for a joint livestream event, comparing and contrasting MOSAiC and the historical expedition that inspired it (aboard a ship called the Fram) and Endurance22 and the historical expedition that inspired it (Imperial Trans-Antarctic).

Atmospheric Science & Climate Modeling in the Gunnison Valley: Field Based Course

Join us for a 1-credit field-based course with atmospheric scientists from NOAA and other institutions to learn firsthand about the SPLASH project, a Study of Precipitation, the Lower Atmosphere and Surface for Hydrometeorology, being conducted at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory in the Gunnison Valley. We will be spending two days in the field visiting four sites with scientists, ranging from the Avery Peak picnic area north of Gothic down to the Roaring Judy Fish Hatchery.

The Future of Forests at Rocky Mountain National Park

Calling all middle and high school science teachers! Engage with The Future of Forests unit and explore fire-affected areas across Rocky Mountain National Park in this 3-day, 2-night professional development event! Participants will spend the mornings engaging with The Future of Forests unit (facilitated by curriculum developer Jon Griffith) and then head out into the Rocky Mountain National Park with park rangers in the afternoon to observe and study the effects of wildfire on the landscape.
