While workshops will be from 12-1 pm, we invite you to join a virtual “coffee and cookies”  informal networking and conversation at 11.30 am.

Are you curious about the CIRES Mentoring Program? Would you like to hear from past participants before you sign up? Join us for this virtual panel discussion to learn more about the program and hear from people who have served in mentor and mentee roles. Please bring your questions for an open and friendly discussion.
    Our panelists include:

Katy Human, CIRES Administration (Past Mentor)
Mimi Hughes, NOAA Scientist (Past Mentor, Founding Committee Member)
Aleya Kaushik, CIRES Postdoc (Past Mentee)
Ryan Cassotto, CIRES Research Scientist (Past Mentee, Mentoring Program Committee Lead)

The CIRES Mentoring Program is an 8-month program designed to help build connections across CIRES and NOAA, enhance a sense of community and belonging within the research institute, and foster career development. Mentors can help navigate career transitions, build your network, brainstorm work/life balance challenges, write a proposal or support career growth – the relationship can be shaped based on your needs! CIRES employees across all career paths, identities and job categories are encouraged to join the program as a mentor or as a mentee. Whether you are an administrator, an educator, a software engineer, a researcher or a federal employee (federal employees can serve as mentors only), the CIRES Mentoring Program is seeking your participation. The program is open to all career stages from new arrivals to senior staff; new hires are especially encouraged to join.

The CIRES Career Development Series supports personal learning and provides inclusive opportunities for CIRES researchers to connect and grow together by offering a monthly 1 hour workshop focused on developing diverse professional skills.
