Colorado Hazards of 2020: The Science Behind (this year's) Drought & Wildfires

Join us for an installment of the Natural Hazards Resilience Teacher Professional Development Series brought to you by the HEART Force program and the Earth Force RISE Challenge

Seth Arens of the Western Water Assessment, author of the monthly Intermountain West Climate Briefings, will share a recap of this years natural hazards in Colorado. While the year started out with average snowpack, why is the entire state in a drought and why did so many wildfires happen? Join us for real world science and a wealth of local datasets.

Seth will present for 30 minutes, then we will have 30 minutes for questions and discussion. Certificates for teacher professional development contact hours will be available for participants upon request.

If you have any questions, please email katya.schloesser@colorado.edu.
