- perspectives from observations and models
Current Research
Dr. Sledd is currently investigating the Arctic surface energy budget during the Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) Field Campaign. This work uses ground observations to quantify relationships between fluxes as well as the influence of environmental factors, e.g. atmospheric state, snow cover, sea ice depth. Observational results are being studied in tandem with output from a coupled forecast model (CAFS) to perofrm sensitivity studies, which are currently focused on the role of snow thermal condictivity.
