Brigitta Rongstad Strong

Brigitta is a science writer, social media manager, web content producer, and data analyst for CIRES. She is passionate about making environmental science more accessible through storytelling — and she loves harnessing data to improve processes and inform strategic changes. Her work is informed by experiences in multiple environmental science-related fields, including science communication, informal education, geochemistry, and environmental consulting. 

Previously, she was the program manager for the We are Water project, which brings a traveling exhibit and hands-on, community-focused educational programming about water to rural and Tribal libraries in the southwestern United States. In 2023, the We are Water team received a Governor's Award for "inspiring change and awareness in the Desert Southwest."

Brigitta has PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she studied geological sciences, paleoclimate, and paleoceanography, and a BSc in geology and geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
