Research Interests
Gillian is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Hydrology, Water Resources & Environmental Fluid Mechanics Program in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, and is affiliated with CIRES. She holds a M.S. in civil engineering from Purdue University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont.
Current Research
My research examines how interactions between hydrometeorology and topography shape the spatial distribution of western snowpack. Machine learning and other data-driven models are primarily used for developing transferable tools to support conservation assessments for snow-adapted species, including the Canada lynx.
