Research Interests

The bulk of my career has been in visual journalism and special projects, with design and editing roles at the High Country News, Casper (Wyo.) Star-Tribune, Rocky Mountain News, and Nation Media (Nairobi, Kenya). I joined CIRES in 2014, first working on communications development with NIDIS, then joining the CIRES communications office in 2017. 

I am also an artist, primarily painting and mixed media, and share a studio with three other artists in North Boulder. You can see my work on my website, kboganart.com.

Current Research

Graphics/visual content to support proposals and projects; publication design and editing (especially Spheres); occasional writing; internal and external communications support; asset organization.
