Current Research

Her research investigates how to simultanesouly achieve biodiversity conservation and equity outcomes. A major focus within this is to scrutinize how biodiversity conservation is financed and how Environmental Justice principles can inform financial policies and decision-making. In attempt to guide policy makers and financiers on how to address the $700 million biodiversity finance gap and promote a more sustainable global economy, she centers her work on best to support low-income countries and populations who are threatened most by biodiversity loss. Liza is currently a ACI graduate assistant at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES).
