Research Interests

I joined the Space Weather Team in Boulder as a data analyst in March 2025. Before that, my background was in observational astronomy. I received my bachelor's in physics at Truman State University in my home state of Missouri. I then did my PhD at University of Michigan with some time spent in France. My research involved using long-baseline optical interferometry to detect and characterize exoplanets in regimes off-limits to other methods. I continued this research for a couple years in the UK with a postdoc position, before moving to Boulder CO and shifting to solar physics / space weather.

In my free time I enjoy running, hiking, exploring the mountains of Colorado, camping, reading, cooking, and watching movies.

Current Research

I am currently a data analyst for the Solar Imaging group in the Space Weather section of NOAA/NCEI. I work on calibrating and delivering data products for coronograph instruments such as CCOR on the GOES and SWFO satellites. These instruments image the outer layer of the Sun's atmosphers to detect coronal mass ejections. Data from these missions are used by NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center to monitor for geomagnetic storms on Earth.
