Research Interests
I am an international student from Colombia, currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology at CU Boulder. Beyond my academic pursuits, I'm deeply guided by values of compassion and community engagement, which steer my research and personal initiatives towards uplifting marginalized groups. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, especially for friends or family members.
Current Research
My academic journey is motivated by two primary research interests: immigration and environmental sociology. I am excited to explore these areas, particularly through the lens of community-based participatory research (CBPR). I believe this approach not only deepens my understanding but also serves as a powerful tool to empower and amplify the voices of marginalized communities, especially those within environmental justice (EJ) communities, which are often comprised of minorities and people of color.
