Research Interests
I'm a current graduate student in the de Gouw group within CIRES/CU Chemistry. I started atmospheric chemistry research in undergrad and really grew to enjoy the complex chemical and environmental questions that it introduced. I followed that passion to Boulder where there is an abundance of research within CIRES and beyond that I can play a part in. Outside of the lab and research, I enjoy playing soccer, saxophone in a graduate student band, and taking the occassional pottery class.
Current Research
My current work focuses on understanding the emissions and impacts from wildland urban interface(WUI) fires. These fires occur where human development meets natural landscapes and pose a high risk to people. They have unfortunately grown in frequency and range in recent decades. The emissions of these particular fires are of concern because they occur closer to where folks live and also the fires fuel can be a lot more strucutral and synthetic materials, which have more unknown emissions. This has lead us to run studies looking at both the indoor smoke impacts of WUI fires and the emissions of particular materials to better understand and quantify these impacts
