Research Interests

Liz’s main focus of research is analyzing localized, short temporal weather in the context of the longer term and large-scale climate. Her current research includes understanding large-scale temperature extreme events in Alaska and Canada, relating ice core data at the McCall Glacier in Alaska to the large-scale synoptic climatology, and understanding linkages between observed changes in the Arctic and weather in the mid-latitudes.
