Research Interests

My research focuses on quantitative precipitation estimates and forecasts (QPE and QPF) at high spatial and temporal resolution. My work typically focuses on the complex terrain of the western US, where orographic effects present a variety of challenges to both in situ and remotely sensed observations. By understanding how the terrain effects the reliability of QPE products, we can apply this knowledge when using these products to evaluate precipitation forecasts from high resolution forecast models.
