Humans of CIRES Q&A

Q: What is your role at CIRES?

I am an Education researcher and evaluator at the CIRES Center for Education, Engagement, and Evaluation (CEEE). My education research focuses on place-based environmental education, science learning in formal and informal education settings, and transformative experiences that strengthen agency toward environmental action and community engagement. As an evaluator, I collaborate with teams to develop and align project goals and activities, measure outcomes, and support improvement and growth throughout the project.

Q: What is your educational background?

I have a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Colorado State University. As an undergrad at Louisiana State University, I also majored in Psychology and earned a minor in French Language.

Q: Tell us about a hobby of yours.

My main hobbies are improv and sewing. I have been performing with improv teams around Denver since 2017. My favorite thing about it is discovering and exploring imaginary worlds with my teammates and the audience on the spot — every show is a different adventure. For the past few years, I’ve also been growing my sewing skills, taking classes, making gifts for friends and family, and learning how to sew garments, with a goal of being able to find fun and creative ways to upcycle my clothing and other textiles.

Q: Dogs or cats?

I have always been a cat lover, but I also love getting to play with my friends' dogs and used to dog-sit for friends when I was in grad school.

Q: Share a fun fact about yourself.

I grew up in Louisiana with Cajun family members (On my mom's side).
