Aida Rasoli was a 2026 intern with the Research Experience for Community College Students (RECCS) program, led by the CIRES Center for Education, Engagement, and Evaluation (CEEE). This summer, Rasoli studied the impact of aerosols on the reflectivity of Arctic Clouds. She is working toward an Associate of Engineering Science at Arapahoe Community College, and she plans to transfer to a four-year university to study mechanical engineering. Rasoli is passionate about the performing arts, including theatre and playing the violin.

What did you study with the RECCS program?

I researched how tiny particles in the atmosphere, called aerosols, affect the reflectivity of Arctic clouds. Through this project, I gained experience in data analysis while learning more about how aerosols and clouds interact.

What is your educational background?

I am currently pursuing an Associate of Engineering Science at Arapahoe Community College. I plan to transfer to a four-year university to continue my education in mechanical engineering.

What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?

My favorite way to spend a weekend is sleeping in and playing games with friends!

What is your go-to karaoke song?

"I’m Just Ken" from the Barbie movie.

Tell us about a hobby of yours.

I've been involved in the performing arts for about 10 years. Throughout high school, I was very active in theatre and also played the violin. I can even play a little piano. While I'm now pursuing engineering, I'll always have a love for the arts.
