Anne Sledd researches the Arctic using observations from the MOSAiC field campaign. Her work focuses on the balance of energy going into and leaving the surface and how environmental factors impact that balance. In college, she studied physics, but during her masters program in applied physics, she realized she was more interested in the natural world and climate change. She switched gears and graduated with a PhD in atmospheric sciences. Her dream vacation would be to travel to New Zealand with enough time to explore both islands. And every winter, her family makes pierogis, Polish dumplings—their record is 200 in one winter season.
